I am currently working on a project concerning the adventitiously blind - people who were born sighted but lost their sight at some point in their lives. The causes of blindness in the people I have spoken to range from a slow-onset MS to a gunshot wound, from childhood glaucoma to old age. This is a small sampling of photographs from organizations I have worked with in Dallas, Chicago, and Los Angeles that cater to the adventitiously blind as well as people who were born blind. I plan on visiting other states and countries to expand on the project.
