Carmen Rizzo
Jason shot a spread for Electronic Musician, a feature on Carmen Rizzo, who is a techno musician. According to wikipedia, "Carmen Rizzo is a producer and music engineer who has worked with Alanis Morissette, Oakenfold, Kate Havnevik, Temposhark, Jem, and Esthero. In addition, inviting other musicians and vocalists as guests, he has recorded his own album entitled The Lost Art of the Idle Moment." **Blogger's Note: Apparently Coldplay isn't important enough to make the list, but Carmen's website lists them too.**
When Jason shot him, I decided to tag along, and I was really glad I did. The shoot took place in one of those Los Angeles buildings that are sandwiched between a couple other buildings on Hollywood Boulevard, so you'd never even look at it twice. But inside, his studio was amazing, with a great view, and rooftop access that overlooked the city. He had French internet radio playing while we were there (instant cool points as far as I'm concerned) and was really down to earth, even though he was about to play at the Hollywood Bowl the next week. You can kind of see in the picture on the left that he had this sporty side, and he kept playing with a baseball while we were there, and told us that he plays baseball in his spare time. And he let us hear an exclusive, unreleased track that he was remixing for Blue October, which sounded great. Anyway, the photos turned out wonderful and even made it on the cover of the magazine, which is available everywhere - so next time you're in Borders if you see this, think of Jason!
