a small remembrance

It's been a while since I last read of of his books, and in all honesty his passing will have no actual effect on my daily living, but I wanted to just take a second and remember Kurt Vonnegut, since he did bring countless hours of joy to my life. I remember first reading Cat's Cradle, and being surprised at how addicted to it I was after the first few pages. I read Slaughterhouse-Five shortly after that, and Vonnegut became one of my favorite authors. I'm glad that he's being praised in the media today the way he deserves.

Jason took this picture last weekend in a Seattle hotel room, and it captures the exact way I feel when I remember reading those first pages of Cat's Cradle...

And the moment I read the last pages.....
Same crouched down position I started in....
Never having left the room...

You are blogger #8 in my circle to give the tribute.

I felt the same way when Fred Rogers died. ;)

Seriously, I'm going to get stoned and watch Slaughterhouse Five again.
