Plamegate, or as I call it, boregate

The verdict was passed town in the Scooter Libby trial. After all the money spent on lawyers and all the media resources devoted to the story, Dubya will probably pardon him next year anyway. I think I pretty much understand what this whole fiasco was about, but I don't really understand why everyone is supposed to care. Didn't we already know the government was corrupt? Didn't we already know that Dick Cheney is involved in some weird friend-rewarding and enemy-punishing practices? And why are my news choices between this story and Anna Nicole's paternity mystery? Can someone please turn on some re-runs of Quantum Leap?

Capturing my cynical mood this evening is this photo. I love it because it's looks like an abandoned funhouse, but not quite. There's one of those Wizard of Oz doors to get into the cellar. The more I thought about it, the more I realized that the inside of this place must be one of the scariest places on earth. Definitely children's bones in the basement. I mean, really - what is this place? And then the fact that they're trying to rent that sign on top is like the icing on the cake. To me, the sign on the top sums up the state of the media in the wake of all this CIA operative nonsense.

CNN is interviewing Cheney's blood clot tonight. That should be interesting.

I think Bush should pardon Libby and accept political responsibility for his own administration. But you nailed it. He won't pardon him until next year....

I am so bored of this scandal b/c it's, like, the least serious bit of chicannery going down.... What about no-bid contracts and how privatization has hurt certain government functions and how they broke our Army and misplaced $12 billion in Iraq.

Is the blood clot going to have his or her own special lighting person like Michael Jackson?
