wheelchairs and inspiration

This weekend I went and watched the Los Angeles Marathon. I was at mile 4 very early in the morning, and then at the finish line much later in the day. The best thing about the marathon, hands down, is the wheelchair racers. I'm amazed by the top men and women, and how their bodies work and how they look when they run, and I'm entertained by the Elvis runners and the barefoot runner and everything. But the wheelchair racers are in a whole different class. Something about watching them compete is so touching, so motivational, so beautiful and sweet. I even saw a dad who was pushing his 5-year old daughter (she was in a wheelchair) the entire race.

So this picture seemed to fit today: I've never seen a mannequin in a wheelchair before. It's so strange, I had to look at the picture twice to even understand what I was seeing.

Confession: I used to have a thing for men with disabilities. I stalked men who participated in races and basketball games in their wheel chairs.

I once saw a movie in which a "person with disabilities" had sex with his "partner" by using a special harness.

I'm not disabled but I'm definately interested in purchasing the harness.

I don't quite get it. Is the mannequin there to make people in wheelchairs feel better about shopping at that store? Or is it to display what the clothes would look like while one is sitting in a wheelchair?
Harnesses are fun.

THe customers were all super old with walkers, etc. I never thought I would see a department store try to cater to their customers by putting models in wheel chairs, so it shows what I know.
Maybe they should have a section for "hospital wear" and "coffin clothes"
