Generation Me
This is a term I hadn't heard before yesterday: "Generation Me." I refuse to believe that I'm a part of it, but apparently anyone born after 1970 is part of a generation of Americans who a recent study shows are more narcissistic than ever before. Apparently it may be a byproduct of the 1980s when kids were taught that they were special and unique. Silly teachers. I know I'm special, but why did they tell everyone else that nonsense?
Anyway, the spirit of the study is what I find intriguing about this picture. I feel like this boy looks way older than his age. And he looks like he knows some secret that his onlooking father doesn't know. Maybe the secret is that he's special?

Photoblog Person,
If we don't stop this silly education system of ours, the Asian world is going to definately start referring to us as "special."
I don't want to be "special." I want to be compassionately ruthless.
Wait...your teachers told you that too? Suddenly, I don't feel so special.
Oh his Dad knows the secret....
And he's praying.....
that his son knows he's special and never ever forgets it! And he's freeze-framing the shape of his little head, those big eyes, perfect cheeks into a moment he will remember forever....
I love the smirk on his face, but agree with Singleton, his Pop seems like he KNOWS what the boy is just learning. The Dads watch pops in this picture...like he's holding time on his side ;)
Yeah I guess parents always know what's going on, and have been through everything we have.
The smirk definitely tells a lot!
