screwed
I love how plaintive this picture is. It's just putting the facts out there: this situation sucks. Plain and simple. I've totally been there, too. I've run out of gas once in my life. It's such a stupid thing to do. I was honestly two blocks from the gas station. I've never blown out a tire, but I've slid on a patch of black ice into the middle of the freeway (grass, luckily). Anyway, this picture is a story, and one that we all have. That's why I like it.

That reminds me of every vacation that I took between 1978 and 1987
Ran out of gas for the first time a few weeks ago.
I hate flats. I wear heels.
Slaghammer, I love how you're slowly revealing painful childhood memories through your comments. First the drive-in, now years of disasterous vacations. Keep it coming, soon I will know all...
Mist, I think it's actually cool now to run out of gas -- just say you were making a statement against the oil dependency of America.
Hehheehee! Not for me just yet - gotta pass the danm test first! Actually thatr's one of the things I most dread about driving - running out of petrol (gas for you yanks) or getting a fcked tyre. It's the embarrasment more then anything....
Oh - tankhs for visiting me!! I will add you next time I do 'housekeeping'. :-)
A fckd tyre. That's amusing.
I think I've been in worst shape than that car, however. When I was younger, the car I was driving was less-than-serviceable at times and in snow you sometimes run off the road (it happens to the best of us).
I'm glad that's all behind me now. But, yes, that car is "plaintive." It's certainly not trying to hide anything either....
LOL, I think I spent 10 years on the side of the road...maybe 12.
I got so used to pushing my car, that if I had passengers (male or female) I'd tell them to just 'hang tite' & I'd push them too!
What a great reminder of days hopefully gone by!
