change me

Halloween has made me realize just how deep people's repressed desires run. Have you noticed how many girls dress up in super-slutty outfits for Halloween? Usually posing as the "sexy cop" or "french maid" or whatever - but the end result is the same. And guys always dress up as "the pimp" or as a woman. It's so obvious that it's hilarious. Anyway, this picture made me think about it - things in this picture strike me as "cool" - his shoes, the chain, and the big rolled pants. I like that the picture is about personality - about how what we wear represents not necessarily what we are, but what we want to be...

You are so right! I wanna be a hippie. Always have. Can't get over it. In real life, I have a real job, real responsibilities, and real bills, and all that real stuff. In my own world, I'm just a hippie. In love beads, and flip flops, with stringy long blonde hair listening to rock and roll. Wafting through all this garbage.....
God, I wish the bill collectors and the neighbors could understand!

LOL@ original post & Singleton's comment.

Good Picture. It looks like he has natural stepping stones, along with a tattered peice of debris in his path. His path looks so level & well worn... like a path traveled 1000x over. A place where things are seemingly predictable. But, we know better, don't we :) Nice symbolism

It makes me think of that phrase, "all dressed up and no place to go." Not sure why.

Man, I always HATED that look, though I'm sure the dude there is a pretty nice person.

From the waist down, doesn't look like the kind of guy who'd attack me. The worst he'd do is ask to bum a cigarette, I think.

For the record, I wanted to go as a pimp.

Singleton - hippies rule. Commune life is my dream.

SLB - i love your interpretation. You have a poetic soul...

Slaghammer - that was my catch phrase on Halloween night - I ended up bailing on the costume and going to a corn maze.

Matt - you totally nailed it! I love it - this picture really does look like two seconds before someone asks to bum a cigarette. Good call!
